Whenever you use scissors a push pin or the glue gun grab an adult!

- First, measure a 7-inch by 2-inch rectangle on one piece of cardboard.
まず、厚紙の1枚に7インチ×2インチの長方形を測ります。
- Use the ruler to draw an X from corner to corner, do the same thing on the other side.
定規を使って角から角へＸ印を描きます。反対側も同じようにします。
- Next, place a penny against one short edge of the rectangle, and trace it.
次に、長方形の短い方の端に1円玉を置いてなぞります。
- Then, place the penny where its sides meet the lines of the X. Trace half the penny to make an arc. Do the same thing on the other side.
次に、Xの線が交わる場所に1円玉を置き、1円玉の半分をなぞって弧を描きます。反対側でも同じように行います。
- Trace half the penny inside the X, and the whole penny at the edge.
Xの内側に1円玉の半分をなぞって、端に1円玉全体をなぞってください。
- Next, draw lines to connect the two arcs forming an oval.
次に、二つの弧を結んで楕円形を描いてね。
- Now, cut out each of the full circles. Put them aside. You’ll need them later.
次に、それぞれの全体の円を切り取ります 。それは脇に置いておいてくださいね。後で必要になるよ。
- Next, cut out the oval. Use the push pin to make a hole in the center of the oval, where the lines of the X meet.

- You can use the toothpick to make the hole bigger!
つまようじを使って穴を大きくすることもできるよ。
- Now, do it all again with another piece of cardboard!

- Use the push pin to poke a hole in the center of each circle. Use a toothpick again to make the holes bigger.
画びょうを使って、それぞれの円の中心に穴を開けてください。もう一度つまようじを使って、その穴を大きくしてね。
- Time to decorate!
飾り付けの時間だよ！
- Glue one penny to each end of the back of one oval. Let the glue dry.
楕円形の裏側の両端に、それぞれ1枚ずつ1円玉を接着してください。接着剤が乾くまで待ちます。
- Now, it’s time to assemble.
組み立ての時間だよ。
- Poking a toothpick through the holes, stack the pieces together. Leave a little room between each piece.
穴につまようじを通して、それぞれのピースを重ねてください。それぞれのピースの間に少し隙間を空けてください。
- Put a dab of glue on each penny, then push the ovals together and hold them while the glue dries.
それぞれの1円玉に接着剤を少量つけ、楕円形同士を押し付けて、接着剤が乾くまで押さえてください。
- Now, push the outside circles down to rest close to the tops of the ovals. Glue them to the toothpick let the glue dry.
次に、外側の円を押し下げて楕円の上の部分の近くに置き、つまようじに接着剤で貼り付け、接着剤が乾くまで待ちます。
- Cut off the ends of the toothpicks, where they stick out from the dried glue.
乾いた接着剤から突き出ているつまようじの先端を切り取ってください。
- And then, cap off the cut ends of the toothpicks with some more glue. Let the glue dry again.
そして、つまようじの切り口にさらに接着剤を塗ってふたをし、再び接着剤が乾くのを待ちます。
