The Basic Question & Answer | 基本の質問と答え方
まずは基本形を覚えましょう。この質問は「もし～だったら」という現在の事実とは違うことを話す仮定法が使われています。
Question (質問): “If you could be any animal, what would you be?”
Answer (答え): “If I could be an animal, I would be a/an [animal name].” (もし私が動物になれるなら、[動物の名前] になるでしょう。)
会話ではもっとシンプルに答えてもOKです。 “I would be a/an [animal name].” or “I’d choose to be a/an [animal name].”
大切なのは、その動物になりたい理由 (reason) を続けて説明することです。理由を付け加えることで、会話がぐっと豊かになります。
