冥王星は７５年もの間、太陽系の９番目の惑星として考えられていましたが、2006年に準惑星として再分類されました。2015年にナサの探査機が冥王星のすぐ近くを通り、冥王星とその衛星に関する新しい情報と画像を収集しました。どのような星なのか、太陽系で最大の準惑星について学びましょう。

In 2006, following the discovery of several other small planet-like objects similar to Pluto, astronomers were forced to decide what makes a planet a planet, instead of something else.
２００６年に冥王星と同じような大きさの星々が発見されたことで、天文学者たちは、惑星にとって何が他でもなく惑星たらしめているのか、その条件を決めなければならなくなりました。

Summary – まとめ –
冥王星は太陽のまわりを公転するのに２４８年もかかります。また自転も一周するのに地球の６倍以上かかるのですね。近年、惑星から準惑星に降格したものの、実はその辺りにはカイパーベルトと呼ばれる小天体の集団があることがわかり、冥王星もその一部だという事がわかってきました。一体これがどのようにしてできたのか、なぜ集まっているのか、まだまだ未知の世界は果てしなく広がっています。
Pluto takes 248 years to revolve around the Sun and also, it takes more than 6 times as long as the earth to rotate around. In recent years, although it has been demoted from a planet to a dwarf planet, it has become clear that there is actually a group of small bodies called Kuiper belts around it, and Pluto is also a part of it. The unknown world is endlessly expanding.
