Fastball (ファストボール / 速球)

It’s the basic, fastest pitch a pitcher throws.

種類：Four-seam fastball (フォーシームファストボール / 4シーム), Two-seam fastball (ツーシームファストボール / 2シーム), Cutter (カッター), Sinker (シンカー), Split-finger fastball (スプリットフィンガーファストボール / スプリット)など

Curveball (カーブ / 弧球)

A pitch that breaks with a downward, arcing motion. It can have a sharp, vertical drop or a more sweeping, horizontal movement.

山なりに弧を描いて落ちるボールです。縦に大きく割れるものや、横に曲がるものなど、様々な種類があります。

Slider (スライダー / 滑球)

A faster pitch than a curveball that breaks sharply to the side.

高速で横に滑るように変化するボールです。カーブよりも速く、鋭く変化するのが特徴です。

Changeup (チェンジアップ / 緩急球)

While not technically a “breaking ball” in the sense of having a sharp, late movement, it’s often grouped with them as an off-speed pitch. It’s thrown with a similar arm action to a fastball but is significantly slower.

速球と似たフォームで投げられながら、速度が遅いボールです。打者のタイミングを大きくずらすことを目的とします。

Screwball (スクリューボール / 逆回転球)

A breaking ball that moves in the opposite direction of a slider. For a right-handed pitcher throwing to a right-handed batter, it will break down and in. The spin on the ball is the reverse of a curveball. It’s a relatively rare pitch due to the stress it can put on the pitcher’s arm.

スライダーとは逆方向に変化する変化球です。右投手が右打者に対して投げる場合、内側に向かって沈むように曲がります。ボールの回転はカーブボールとは逆です。投手にとって腕への負担が大きいため、比較的珍しい球種です。

Knuckleball (ナックルボール / 無回転球)

: A pitch thrown with very little or no spin, causing it to move erratically and unpredictably as it travels towards home plate due to air resistance acting on the seams. The grip typically involves placing the knuckles or fingertips on the ball.

ほとんど回転を与えずに投げるボールで、縫い目と空気抵抗の関係で、ホームプレートに向かって不規則で予測不能な動きをします。握り方は、指の関節（ナックル）や指先をボールに当てるのが一般的です。
